After countless failed attempts at”The perfect selfie ” I found myself doing the very thingĀ  that I’ve been trying to speak out against . Comparing my self and not measuring up to the beautiful images on Social media , thinking they have to see the perfect image of me to really see me. When I realized duh! they could never see the real me through a seemingly perfect photo. The reason being is that the real me ? Isn’t perfect at all and the real me ….well never claimed to be and therefore why can’t I find the courage to turn off the Beauty filter ?

Becca First Light Priming Filter Instant Complexion Refresh & Oct Sephora Play Review

Becca First Light Priming Filter Instant Complexion

This is an interesting primer for me, considering that it’s very thin and watery but that’s where it stops disappointing me. Spreading fast and soaking in enough to quench your dry skin but leaving just enough remaining on the surface allowing your foundation to glide on like silk. This multi tasking lavender Hued, limonene smelling refresher has more than a few tricks up its sleeve. I get a sad amount of rest mon-friday so my favorite aspect of Becca’s First Light Priming Filter Intstant Complexion Refresh is its ability to do just that! I’m beyond impressed I mean come on girls what’s the worst time to put on makeup?

At the butt crack of dawn after 3 1/2 hrs of sleep scratchy red eyes, dry skin deprived of life, reacting like a vampire at mid-day while flipping on the light switch to the vanity mirror Oh yeah I just went there! No matter how tired I am this stuff perks me up so To get my makeup routine going. Let’s not forget the light reflecting shimmer finish to top it off. I have found this primer works well with just using a light blush to set it with a touch of concealer of course under the eyes makes for a very I’m not wearing hardly any makeup but Fresh and healthy skin look.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation R230

I had a mixed first impression of this foundation In the beginning. For starters the shade was off by a good way if you have any makeup subscription’s you know that shade matching on your behalf can be hit or miss so I had to use some color correcting drops by Algenist witch I love by the way but well get into that another time. To get’t help but feel that the correcting drops lessened the HD photo finishing effect its so famous for. Allure gave it their Best of Beauty Award in 2015 and in their most recent formula revamping have gained Allure’s readers choice award in 2017. I went to the Makeup Forever website looking for a much lighter option where I was surprised to find forty shades and the one I received in my play box R230 was the sixth shade on the first row of the lightest tones so I definitely want to purchase this product in the very near future in a more suitable shade although I’m leaning more towards their stick version just because I prefer coverage and application of a stick vs a liquid.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Skin Booster

I have to be honest here girls I really don’t feel anything amazing from this product it’s okay it is nice to have any hyaluronic acid formula in Your Arsenal as far as hydration is concerned. I tried this product on my face before I put my foundation on and it caused the foundation to roll for example if you haven’t exfoliated a while and you rub your skin with a good bit of pressure the skin can roll off that’s the only way To get try to explain it but that’s what happened when I used it as directed. To get say it was good to put on after cleansing my face before bed to hydrate through the night but for $41.00 you’d be much better off going through eBay and purchasing some hyaluronic acid for $10 to $12 that does the same thing.

Cover Fx Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight

I love this stuff! I’ve been using it every day since I received it back in October I take a few drops of my foundation in the palm of my hand and a drop of this stuff, mix it together and it creates that Dewey glow for the ones that love that look this is the product for you. You can have your choice of nine shades seven being illuminators and two matte bronzers. Most of them have a bronze look to them except for one which is called Halo it has a Pearly frosty look.

With a price of $42 on Sephora I decided I’d take a chance on wish.com for $4 of course we will see if it’s authentic you never know. As always I recommend eBay you can find the Deluxe sample size of 2.8ml for $8 to $10 I’ve been using it five days a week for over a month now and it’s only Halfway Gone the full size is 15 mL which ranges from about $17 to $25 on eBay .

Laura Mercier Loose setting powder in Translucent

This is not your standard setting powder it leaves behind a matte finish for the most part, I sense the most minuscule amount of shimmer but not enough to call it shimmery. It locks makeup into place with all day while giving additional Shine Control also gives a blurring effect. I recommend using this to set your foundation and concealer before adding your blush and or highlighter. It’s very sheer not cakey at all there are two shades for this setting powder translucent for fair all the way to tan complexions and translucent medium-deep for medium to the deepest complexions. The deluxe sample size that I received is 3.5 g it’s quite difficult to use considering the opening is hardly big enough to get your brush into. Sephora has the 9 gram container which they consider a mini size for $23 and their full size is $38. Although this is a nice setting powder my go-to is Physicians Formula happy booster & glow and mood boosting face powder #7318 it’s considered translucent but it has several colors in the compact in the shape of hearts in different sizes. They also have at least four other shapes that I know of in the mood boosting formula it’s great I highly recommend. As always it is been a pleasure and I hope that any of this information could’ve been helpful in helping you make an informed purchase when in doubt search eBay for the best price. And remember true beauty comes from within.

Ipsy and Sephora Play

If you are looking where to buy makeup online then it is obvious you are not searching for your basic drugstore branded makeup. You are looking for something with higher quality but with that comes a higher price tag. With that being said would it be safe to say that you would like to try it before you buy it? Well then I can tell you your best bet is one of two options that I highly recommend personally with which I have had great success.

First we will start with Ipsy, the first makeup subscription that I tried. So many great aspects to receiving one of their custom Glam Bags every month first being of course the glam bag a super cute makeup bag with the colors of the season and the vibe and theme of whatever that may be. In your custom bag five beauty products with sizes ranging from full size to Deluxe when you sign up you’ll fill out a beauty profile which tells them what Shades and brands you would like to try along with info on your complexion, skin type Etc.

It’s definitely worth mentioning their website has a fun inspiring, encouraging type vibe vs an up-selling one. With plenty of information on the products they sent you for that month and info on ways to wear them. They also have points you can earn by reviewing the items in your glam bag also by referring friends you can use them to put extra items in your upcoming glam bag. You can also earn up to 30% cash back by shopping your favorite brands on their site you will receive a $5 bonus to start. You can have sent by check or get it via PayPal. You can always check out their YouTube channel where you’re always sure to find really cool innovative ideas for new looks and makeup, nail and hair styles.

Now I would like to tell you about Sephora play the second addition to my ever- growing cosmetic collection there are several aspects to Sephora vs Ipsy. Before subscribing to Sephora play I had never purchased anything exclusively through them or at one of their stores. They we’re much too pricey for my taste considering I wasn’t familiar with higher priced brands because I never had the money to just take a chance with possibly not liking the product that I bought. Don’t get me wrong I have wasted a lot of money on makeup and different cosmetic products that ended up not working for me but they were a fraction of the cost of most items sold by Sephora. Bringing me to my favorite aspect of this subscription you will be getting five samples all of them being Deluxe size and a fragrance sample everything they send you will be high quality amazing products because they want you to love it so that you will want the full size products they sell, and that’s okay with me if I know that I absolutely love a product it takes the sting out of paying the higher price for something I know works for me.

Can we please for a moment talk about the wide range of products out there today that we would never have the money to try all of them but with cosmetic subscriptions we can and if you love makeup and Skin Care hair care as much as I do then $10 a month as a super small price to pay to try exclusive brands every single month. They also have a point system you can earn and redeem them in a few different ways. When I decided to make my first big purchase it was the Huda desert dusk palette for $65 which qualified me for two day shipping through Sephora free samples were also included my choice of three skin care samples including Nars, Algenist and Caudalie although they were not Deluxe size still, they were free. Being subscribed gives you what they call Insider status they send you promo codes for deluxe size samples of all kinds when I made my purchase during my birthday month they gave me a gift to redeem at checkout I chose a Tarte lip and check duo, matte lip paint and Amazonian clay 12- hour blush mini. I also had a promo code my choice of many was a fragrance sample spray set of eight including a Giorgio Armani lip maestro not to mention I had enough points after receiving only one Sephora play bag to redeem a makeup Mini with my points I chose a Makeup Forever Artist Liquid Matte mini.

Needless to say when that package came it was like Christmas for me I received a lot of stuff off of one purchase. They are always offering promos for samples of all kinds through your Insider status for being subscribed to Sephora play so any time you make a purchase you always can redeem a lot of samples and makeup Minis which is awesome because they are all luxury brands. There is much variety with this particular option if your anything like me I love to try new beauty products all the time I’m always in search of the Holy Grail of mascaras ( don’t worry I’m not holding my breath LOL) that’s another subject in and of itself am I right? In my next post I will be reviewing some of the products I received in my last Sephora play bag until then ladies remember real Beauty comes from within.
